Albuquerque Postcard & Paper Show: October 9-10, 2009
Over 20 dealers bringing thousands of antique, vintage, and modern collectible postcards featuring views of New Mexico, the U.S.A., and foreign countries as well as numerous topical categories such as animals, artist signed, comic/humor, fairs & expos, military, transportation, pretty ladies,
sports, and many more.
The 2009 SWGLFF will screen over 80 features, shorts and documentaries in 40 programs, from over 15 countries.
Anderson - Abruzzo International Balloon Museum:
Features a graphical celebration of Balloon Fiesta. Posters, bumper stickers, programs and other colorful items connect visual images and stories about artists, ballooning pioneers and the ballooning fraternity that capture the magic of Balloon Fiesta.
The exhibition highlights the story of Reiko Okada, a young Japanese school girl, who secretly built balloon bombs. As an adult, after learning her childhood actions led to killings on soil, she recounts her experience through stirring text and illustrations to make a fervent wish for peace.
This exhibit will feature toys, card games and board games with ballooning and airship themes, along with reference to real-world games that balloonists play at events such as Balloon Fiesta.
New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science:
The only Triassic Exhibit Hall in North America is dedicated to the plants and animals of the Triassic Period in New Mexico and the world.
National Hispanic Cultural Center:
Paintings, culpture, fiber arts, furniture, drawings, installation art, metal works, prints, photographs, and mixed media works illustrate Hispanic and Lation artists' enunciations of their diverse and complex experiences.
Features artists that incorporate natural forms and organic materials.
A major exhibition on Contemporary Cuban Art, which provides an exciting overview of what's happening now with significant Cuban artists and various media.
The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History:
Celebrating the creative spirit that our state inspires through cultural diversity, a rich historical heritage, and a landscape second to none.
Features a major collection of mid- to late-19th century basketry and pottery, Dine (Navajo) and Pueblo vessels from the 1920s, Graham Collection Pueblo Pottery 20th century Dine weavings and contemporary paintings, sculpture and fiber arts.

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center:

Features clay figures representing many different tribest throughout North America, including the Pueblos of the Southwest.
An exhibition of wooden retablos depicting the patron saints of each of the 19 Pueblos.
Other Exhibits:
Land/Art is a collaborative exploration of land-based art in New Mexico.
An exhibit of spectacular photographs, depicting the history of the famed Ferrari automobile.
The Seed Exhibit -
The seed exhibit symbolizes 11 million human beings murdered by Hitler and his Nazi followers. There is one seed for each Jewish life snuffed out.
This exhibit features archaeological materials collected during human modern historic, prehistoric, and postwar items.
